Tim's Knee--Is he hurt? |
Lead | |
|
I know it's hard to believe that Tim is now sporting a brace on his knee. Well, believe it! I hope Tim is okay. I hope he is able to rest and get better. I hope it's an injury that will heal quickly. Tim should pull up a stoll and sit. JD can dance around the stool. He might even be able to pull Tim's hair while Tim sits on the stool.

INXS Breaks A Leg
Dennis Bertoldo - September 12, 2006 06:00pm TIM Farriss won't be leaping off any stacks of Marshall amplifiers when INXS perform at Challenge Stadium. The INXS guitarist has torn the radial and lateral ligaments in his right knee and is hobbling about with the aid of a walking stick, albeit a rock star-ish clear PVC one. ``Basically this happened as the result of one rock star move too many and it turns out its been happening over a period of time, he said. Farriss, one of a trio of brothers in the band, bounces off his lifetime friend and band-mate Kirk Pengilly in the club lounge of the Burswood Casino. They were joined during their stay by old mate Leo Sayer, who is performing at The Countdown Spectacular, and looked them up. Farriss and Pengilly are happy to be on tour, with a new album Switch and with new singer JD Fortune, the first permanent replacement for the late Michael Hutchence. Pengilly, who once called Perth home, laments not having the chance to visit old stomping grounds during his brief stay in WA. ``I was going to come in on Sunday with Layne (Beachley) and go to Margaret River but you know what, theres just enough time, he said. ``I woke up this morning and I like to go to the gym, do some yoga and then you have to have something to eat and by the time you are ready its time to do press. Read more of Dennis Bertoldo's interview with Farriss and Pengilly on Wednesday, when PerthNow publishes the first review of their Tuesday night gig. |

Well, dcg, SleepinIn, PhanTim and myself will be parked right in front of that stool in Hamilton!!! He will just be sitting there, looking at us all the time! He will be smiling at us and throwing all kinds of guitar picks to us and everything! So there!
And in Oshawa we'll just be five rows away at the side, probably at eye level with him! So there again! |

I know Tim has a long road ahead of him to recover. I wish him the very best. I wasn't going to Europe because I'm broke broke broke, but I would happily give up any BINXS experience if I knew that it would be physically painful for any member of INXS to perform. I really hate that Tim is waiting at all for the surgery, but I know that he has a great team of doctors (at least I feel sure he does) and they wouldn't let him finish out these shows if he could hurt himself more.
GET WELL, TIM! WE LOVE YOU! |

Timmy -- we want you to get better - all better - so that when you take the stage in Hamilton and Oshawa you will be feeling happy and excited and full of vinegar and beans!
BUT.... we still want you to PRETEND that your leg is hurting, so that you can sit on a stool in front of PhanTim and dcg and SleepinIn and me and just look at us and interact with us and give us guitar pics and everything! (PhanTim especially wanted me to say this, because she's been waiting a long time to lock eyes with you, man!) BUT.... the rest of us want you to pay attention to us too -- we just want to give PhanTim first place in line..... |

Quote: Oh this is so not true. Lock eyes? Not quite what I had in mind. All I have ever wanted to do is to sit down and stroke Tim's Marlin. Get well soon, Tim. I can sympathize having blown my knee out years ago playing sports. Fortunatly it never amounted to surgery. Keep your spirits up, it will soon be a thing of the past. |
